GURPS 4th Ed. is the latest release of the GURPS system claiming to provide a more streamlined rule set for combat and expansion material integration. In the past I've only played one GURPS game and unfortunately it didn't last to long. Recently though I decided to pick up one of my old plans to create a campaign in the Cowboy Bebop setting. My original plan was to build it and play test it and then try to host a game at this years NDK. To accomplish this I decided that I would start with GURPS 4th Core and build from there. The following is my heroin tale as I built my campaign.Read More

This past Friday (May 1st) my friend Bob decided to celebrate his birthday by heading up to Blackhawk for a bit of good food, drinking, and gambling. Not wanting to be the sober drivers we all decided to gather up and take the Casino Bus up. Which wasn't so bad it was a smooth ride and I got to start reading my book Ender in Exile.Read More

Before I begin this review I wanted to make sure and note that although I do enjoy some of Orson Scott Card's (OSC) work I don't necessarily believe in his personal beliefs and/or opinions. Personally I believe if you can just ignore him when he starts getting preachy in his work you can enjoy the book with less bias and issue. Now without further ado.Read More

Recently I decided to get back into indie game development. This was a difficult decision since those that know me know that my last trip into the game development industry nearly killed me. But I figured that I had to many ideas to waste on what-ifs twenty years from now.Read More

Alright because it was late, I was already kinda tipsy from my drinks and I was typing it up on my iPhone I left out quite a lot of details from my last Starfest post. So I figured I would fill in the gaps from the first day and fill in Day.Read More

Alright so after an hour and a half commute down to the Denver DTC I finally made it to starfest. After checking in with my department and finding out I wasn't needed this year I made way to get my badge. So I get to the registration area which cause of the weather it was packed with people who arrived early. After realizing that I forgot to print my ticket I asked where I should be and stood in line... For twenty minutes before finding out I was in the wrong damn line! Being incredibly agitated I left to go eat.Read More

What an incredibly busy week! between working on this site, NDK's and working on two other side projects I need more time! Or a clone of me so that I can get more done in the day. Now aside from those things I also have Starfest this weekend. Well at least I'll have the spare time to see the amazing guest list we we have this year.

For those not in the know I recently was in need of learning how to modify, administer, and build a website using Drupal 6. Which is a very powerful and feature rich CMS framework. The downside is that in trade for all that complexity the learning curve is more like a cliff face than anything. So I decided that I would migrate Shadowpedia away from my custom CMS to drupal to help with my learning.
I poked around and asked some friends who did professional Drupal development for some advise. The two books recommended. This one and Pro Drupal Development (2nd ed) which I will post a review about on a later date.Read More
