This past weekend I finally fell in line with the rest of America and made my way to the movie theater to see the latest and greatest from Pixar Studios and Disney Entertainment. Up is a heartfelt and touching movie with a comedic undertones and life lessons.
Following the life of Carl Fredricksen in his early years as a bright eyed and hopeful future adventurer of the world! Soon he bumps into Ellie his young and adventurous counterpart. They of course have the fairytale childhood and grow up to marry. Years pass and Carl is always reminded of a childhood promise to take her to Paradise Falls in South America that he has every intention to keep. Unfortunately when he finally purchases the tickets his beloved Ellie passes away.
From here we follow Carl through his daily life as he decides to start his wild adventure across the world taking the house that he and Ellie built with him so that he can at long last fulfill his promise. Along the way he is be joined by a quirky young Adventurer Scout attempting to earn his final badge, a personable and nurturing bird affectionately named "Kevin," and a goofy-fun-loving dog named Doug.
In the end the movie is full of fun, laughs, and life lessons definitely another star on the board for Pixar and we can all only hope that they continue the trend of great movies with fun for all for years to come.
