Scribblenauts is an interesting and innovative puzzle/adventure game where the player solves said puzzles by calling various items out of thin air. The concept was very interesting and true to the designers word the game has a vast library of words you can use to create various items. From apples, buttons, and Cthulu to God himself. At first, working through the tutorial and the first level I was having fun, but as the levels progressed the bugs and unpolished feel of the game started to become more and more prominent.Read More

Today I sat down to try out the new and raved about XBLA platformer game Shadow Complex. I had heard several great things about it and it even won an award at E3 so I figured, hell, why not? Now before I jump into the details I'm going to say that there were some good things and some bad things about the game. As there are with most games.Read More

Before I begin this review I wanted to make sure and note that although I do enjoy some of Orson Scott Card's (OSC) work I don't necessarily believe in his personal beliefs and/or opinions. Personally I believe if you can just ignore him when he starts getting preachy in his work you can enjoy the book with less bias and issue. Now without further ado.Read More

For those not in the know I recently was in need of learning how to modify, administer, and build a website using Drupal 6. Which is a very powerful and feature rich CMS framework. The downside is that in trade for all that complexity the learning curve is more like a cliff face than anything. So I decided that I would migrate Shadowpedia away from my custom CMS to drupal to help with my learning.

I poked around and asked some friends who did professional Drupal development for some advise. The two books recommended. This one and Pro Drupal Development (2nd ed) which I will post a review about on a later date.Read More

Well, after reviewing Hasbro's Monopoly I felt I should also provide a review for Hasbro's other latest release: Family Game Night.

This software was released for both the Wii and the X-Box 360. The difference being that with the Wii purchase you received all the 'classic' games Connect Four, Battleship, Yahtzee, Boggle, and Sorry! and on the X-Box 360 you got the game for free and had to purchase each classic game through the X-Box live system and some of them weren't available for download yet. (Like Sorry! and Boggle)Read More

Being the nostalgic board game geek I am I decided to pick up the latest Hasbro digital release of Monopoly for the Wii. I asked a my friends MinnieBee and GregHines to join me. Not having a fourth we decided to add an AI player.

Figuring that Monopoly was a classic with several digital versions across many, many platforms this should just be another simple adaptation brought to a new technology. Oh how wrong I was.Read More
